In Bashkortostan, ex-deputy head of Ufa administration charged with disposal of federal lands worth some 1 billion rubles

The Bashkortostan Office of the RF Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against former first deputy head of the Ufa administration Vladislav Nikitin, 44. He is charged with abuse of office under Part 3 of Article 285 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, Nikitin was the chairman of the Ufa’s land management and construction commission and arranged that a plot of land used as the DOSAAF sports training air field (volunteer organization assisting the army, aviation and fleet) was transferred into municipal ownership. To make the deal look like it was legal, they organized a bidding during which the federal property was transferred to a firm owned by Nikitin’s sister so that it later would be used for the construction of residential buildings. According to experts the market price of the plot of land was almost 897 million rubles which caused the RF budget a considerable damage, to say nothing of the fact that the air field was not operated. The plot is still rented by OOO Directorate of Ufa Development Programm owned by the accused who pleads not guilty.

None the less, the investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.

When investigating crimes committed by state officials, the priority mission of investigative authorities is protecting state interests and compensation of damage done to the RF budget, this is why a court has arrested the plot of land.
