Yesterday mass media published a lot of reports that a bus conductor demanded from a 9-year-old girl to get off the bus when it was 30 degrees below zero outside because she had not money to pay the fare. The girl had to walk home in freezing cold. The Sverdlovsk Region Office of the RF Investigative Committee has opened an investigation into unsafe services under Article 238 of the RF Penal Code.

Investigations are now looking into all the circumstances under which a small girl was asked out of the bus, though staying long in the clod would have had negative effect on her health. According to media reports, representatives of the transportation company did nothing to make sure that at least the girl was not left alone in a dangerous situation (for example, they did not call her parents or police who might have found and call girl’s parents, etc.).

The investigators will identify and question parties of the incident, request documents regulating the operation of the transportation company. The investigation is under control of senior officials of the regional investigative authority.
