RF Investigative Committee’s delegation pays working visit to Cuba

Under the Agreement on cooperation between the RF Investigative Committee and the Ministry of the Interior of Cuba an Investigative Committee’s delegation which included employees of the Forensics Directorate, Investigative Committee’s Academy and the International Legal Cooperation Department and was headed by Acting Directorate of the Forensics Directorate Zigmund Lozhis gave a course of lessons on forensic science and international cooperation laws to fight crime for investigators, criminalists and representatives of the Cuban Interior Ministry’s Central Office from 21 to 25 November 2016.

The two parties also exchanged their practices in this field. Cuban colleagues showed the Russian delegation their forensic equipment.

The Investigative Committee’s delegations met the head of the Investigations Directorate of the Cuban Interior Ministry General A. Rabeiro Garcia and officials of the Interior Ministry to discuss pressing issues of bilateral anti-criminal cooperation. In addition, the Russian delegation visited the Cuban Interior Ministry’s Integrated Technologies Research Center that is part of the Havana’s Polytechnic University. The center makes forensic development in different fields of Cuban Interior Ministry’s activity.

The Cuban party highly appreciated the course taught by the Russian Investigative Committee and noted its practical use for the work of the Cuban law-enforcement authorities in current fields of activity. The Russian delegation thanked the Cuban counterparts for the exchange of experience and amicable atmosphere of the joint operations.

The parties agreed to continue exchanging specialists and further implementation of other forms of cooperation provided by the interagency Agreement.
