In Bashkortostan, former head of district to stand trial for abuse of office in allocating land plots

The Bashkortostan Office of the Investigative Committee has finished the investigation against 54-year-old former head of Kushnarenkovo District, Bashkorostan. He is charged with abuse of office under part 2 of Article 285 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, from January to April 2014, wanting to allocate plots of land to certain people among his acquaintances and officials, the accused changed permitted kind of use of 10 plots not included in the cadaster register for planned building of new micro-district Adnreyevsky meant for groups entitled to benefits. 36 local residents were refused land allegedly owing to the lack of plots allocated for personal farming. Illegal actions of the district head caused the state budget a damage of more than 4 million rubles. The basis to open the investigation was a complained lodged by a local activist. Courts refused two requests of the investigators to dismiss the head of district administration from office. Later he stepped down due to expiration of his contract. The accused denies the charges. Courts arrested his UAZ vehicle and Yamaha snow mobile worth 300 thousand rubles in order to guarantee the sentence.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case will be referred to court after the accused is served with copy of the indictment.
