The Tyumen Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in execution of work or provision of services that do not meet safety standards under Part 1 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code after an 8-year-old boy was injured as snow fell on him while it was cleared from the roof of a building.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of 11 November 2016, a heap of snow collapsed on the boy injuring him while he was walking past a block of flats in Energetikov Street in the settlement of Bogandinskoye, Tyumen District. The boy got medical aid and is now out of danger.

The investigators have revealed that Kommunalshchik, a Tyumen District municipal unitary enterprise, was responsible for keeping, maintaining and operating the building. Documents relevant for the investigation have been confiscated from the enterprise.

At present, the investigators are identifying the employees of the enterprise responsible for clearing snow from roofs. Legal assessment will be given to their actions (omission). The investigators are also going to find out reasons and conditions that made the crime possible.
