In Khabarovsk Territory, accused of animal abuse start reading criminal records

The sixth department of the Investigative Committee’s Directorate based in the city of Khabarovsk has pressed final charges against two teenage girls from Khabarovsk and an 18-year-old man. Depending on the role of each one they are charged with crimes under Part of Article 245 (animal abuse), part 2 of Article 162 (robbery), Part 1 of Article 148 (public blasphemy) and Pat 1 of Article 282 of the RF Penal Code (hatred incitement).

According to investigators, from June to August 2016, two underage girls tortured and sadistically killed animals. Considering the impertinence of the teenagers during the probe, the investigators studied their personalities and life style and charged them with other crimes as well.

As was established, in 2015 and 2016, one of the accused girls posted on her page in VKontakte social network images and texts clearly expressing disrespect to the society and blasphemy. In addition, from March to October 2016, she together with another underage boy made and posted online a video containing disparagement of victim motivated by his belonging to a social group. On 28 July 2016, the accused girls robbed a man from Khabarovsk.

The investigation of those crimes took a short time. In less than 3 months the investigators carried out more than 400 investigative and procedural operations, including those in other regions, interrogated more than 150 people, ran 39 different forensic inquiries: a psychological one, psychological and linguistic, sociological, medical, veterinarian, situational, ballistic, DNA, and technical ones.

The investigators now have enough evidence so the criminal case will be referred to court after the accused have finished reading the criminal files under Article 217 of the RF Criminal Penal Coad.
