In Perm Territory, local resident gets life for raping and killing his step-daughter

A court has recognized the evidence collected by the perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee sufficient to convict a 26-year-old ex-con from Perm Territory. He was found guilty of a rape of a minor under Part 4, item “b” of Article 131, sexual abuse of a minor under 14 years of age under Part 4, item “b” of Article 132 and murder of a minor under Part 2, items “c” and “j” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

The court and investigators have revealed that in summer 2016, the man raped and sexually abused his step-daughter. Then he strangled the girl and discarded the body on vegetable patches in the back of his house.

The investigators conducted a considerable number of investigative operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime. Witnesses aware of both the crimes and the living and family conditions of the girl were questioned. The investigators examined the crime scene and surrounding areas, seized and processed physical evidence, ordered and got results of more than 10 forensic tests, including a biological, medical, comprehensive DNA ones and others. The testimonies were checked on the crime scene. The investigators filed a request with the police to eliminate contributing factors to the crime. Following its consideration, the district police officer was disciplined for misconduct.

The court has sentenced the man to life imprisonment in a special-security correctional facility and awarded 2 million rubles in damages to the girl’s mother. The sentence has not yet entered its legal force.
