In Penza Region, probe launched in murder of child

The Penza Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a murder of a minor under Part 2, item “c” of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, dead body of a 10-year-old boy with traces of violent death was found near a shop in Polevaya Street in the town of Sursk, Penza Region on the evening of 27 February 2017. The boy died of injuries on the scene.

Investigators have found out that the boy was coming home after a lesson with a tutor, but never came home. The body was found by a local resident who reported it to the police.

At present, there is an investigative team which includes the most experienced investigators and forensic experts of the regional investigative authority. Some forensic inquiries are underway to find out exact cause of death and to identify a person involved in the crime. The investigators are also checking several local residents. Some mass media are actively spreading premature information about the progress of the investigation. We would like to remind that all impartial and therefore truthful information can come only from an official source which is the Investigative Committee.

The tragedy left nobody unmoved. An innocent child was brutally killed. The investigators will do everything to identify and hold the villain in the shortest possible time. They will also check public safety and order in the town. The Investigative Committee appeals to all parents, teachers and just caring people to pay attention to children, especially when they are left outside unattended. Do remember, that there are no strange children, and timely reaction of citizens may help to save our children from troubles.
