The Kirov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in illegal holding using weapons or objects that can be used as such against two people under Part 2, items “d” and “g” of Article 127 of the RF Penal Code after two paramedics were taken hostage.

According to investigators, about 10 PN, a 40-year-old resident of the town of Kirov under influence claimed that he had been bitten by a dog and called an ambulance. Paramedics arrived and helped the patient. After that, he grabbed a knife and held them inside his flat for about 1.5 hour. One of the hostages managed to inform his friends who called the police.

Police officers detained the man. Nobody of the paramedics was hurt.

At present, the investigators are conducting investigative operations to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
