The Saint Petersburg Directorate of the Investigative Committee and the police detained Nikita Kravchenko, 23, suspected of attacking a child. The man had a previous conviction for larceny.

On the afternoon of 9 April 2017, an unidentified driver of a Kia car attacked a 10-year-old boy with a scooter crossing the road on the greed lights near No 27 in Lanskoye Highway. The man hit the boy with a fist on the head, threw the scooter on top of him and then took off. The injured boy was taken to hospital, treated and discharged.

The suspect is now expecting restraint and charges. The investigation is ongoing.
