Accessory in killing deputy head of Krasnogorsk District Administration in Moscow Region on trial

The Moscow Region Court has started a hearing of the case against Shota Elizbarashvili charged with complicity in murder under Part 5 of Article 33, Part 2, item “a” of Article 105 and illegal circulation of firearms under Part 2 of Article 222 of the RF Penal Code. The case was investigated by the Investigative Committee’s Head Office.

According to investigators Elizbarashvili assisted Amiran Georgadze to kill first deputy head of the Krasnogorsk District Administration, CEO of OAO Krasnogorsk Power Network and a businessman and to get guns to do that. Elizbarashvili drove the car with Georgiadze inside, transported the guns and ammunition, captured what was happening at the murder site and prevented witnesses from reporting to the police. The accused also took steps to conceal the traces of the crime.

More than 55 forensic examinations were run and more than 140 witnesses were questioned. The investigators worked hard and managed to restore the full picture of the crime and gather enough evidence.

The criminal case with the signed indictment was referred to court.

The investigation against Georgiadze is still ongoing, the investigators are looking into all the motives and contributing factors.
