Investigative Committee Chairman Alexander Bastrykin orders check in construction at cultural heritage site in Krasnogorsk

On 1 June a federal TV channel showed a video saying that an ancient French park with a cascade of ponds left from the Opalikha-Alekseyevskaya estate in Krasnogorsk may be cut down and built up with apartment buildings. The video says that the park is a cultural heritage site. According to mass media an independent examination is now underway and if it recognizes the unique park as a swamp with dead standing trees, it will be built up with houses.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered the Moscow Region Directorate to run a check and thoroughly look into all the circumstances of passing the park from federal to private ownership and to decide whether the actions of the developer are legal.
