Investigative Committee Chairman orders probe launched following mass media reports on road accident in Moscow Region sending 5 children to hospital

Two passenger buses collided on the morning of 2 June 2017 at kilometer marker 102 of M5 Ural motorway near the settlement of Raduzhny, Kolomna District. One of the buses was transporting people from the town of Kolomna to the town of Istra, including students of Panovo school, Kolomna District. 14 people, including 8 children were taken to hospital from the accident scene with 5 of the children remaining in hospital.

As there are a lot of injured, including children, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered that a probe should be launched in the accident. Investigators have been instructed to find out all the contributing factors of the accident, the reasons for the children to be transported and if the rules and quality of the services met requirements set by the law and to look carefully into all the circumstances surrounding the accident.
