The Rostov Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in kidnapping under Part 2, item “e” of Article 126 and murder under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Criminal Code.

According to investigators, a woman from the town of Belaya Kalitva reported her 17-year-old son missing and said that she had received a text message on her cell phone saying that her son was kidnapped.

A 21-year-old suspect, a resident of Belaya Kalitva, was identified and detained during investigative and search operations.

During an interrogation, the man said that on 13 December 2017, he offered his help around the summer house to the 17-year-old whom he had known well. They got quarreled at the summer house and the suspect stabbed the victim at least 15 times in his face, head and neck until the teenager was dead. The suspect buried the body under a pile of garbage and texted his mother that her son had been kidnapped.

Investigators have examined the crime scene and found the body. They have asked courts to remand the suspect in custody pending trial.

At present, investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances surrounding the crime.
