This week, federal TV channels have showed a number of news stories about possible wrongful acts committed against minors. Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has ordered that the Central Office should supervise a check run in Kirov Region and an investigation opened in Lipetsk Region.

One of the news stories said that a step-father turned his 3-year-old step-son outside in the town of Kirov wearing nothing but a T-shirt. The boy survived just because a neighbor had heard him cry and taken him inside. The Kirov Region Office of the Investigative Committee is running a check.

Another story wen on saying that a woman from Lipetsk Region got her custody limited, because she and her boyfriend had been torturing the woman’s two children, beat them, threatened and made them drink alcohol. The Lipetsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee opened an investigation in sexual abuse of a minor under Part 4, item “b” of Article 132 and torture of a minor under Part 2, item “d” of Article 117 of the RF Criminal Code.

Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin ordered careful check into all the said facts and if there are reasons to give impartial legal assessment to actions of all people. In addition, the Central office was tasked to control the check and results of the investigation.
