Investigative Committee Chairman orders Central office to supervise check in death of elderly woman in hospital in St. Petersburg

Yesterday, the Saint Petersburg Directorate of the Investigative Committee launched a check into the death of an 80-year-old woman in a hospital in Krasnoselsky District. Some mass media claim that the woman may have died of lack of proper care of medical staff and delayed emergency aid.

Alexander Bastrykin has ordered a corresponding department of the Investigative Committee’s Central Office to supervise the check and take steps to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident. An impartial procedural decision will be made following the check.
