Alexander Bastrykin orders Head Office to take over investigation in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area car crash

Following order of Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, the Head Office has taken over the investigation in a traffic accident that happened in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area and left 10 people dead. A team of experienced investigators has left for the region from Moscow. Experienced criminalists of the Investigative Committee’s Central Office were ordered to go to the scene earlier to provide practical assistance.

The accident involving a Renault Duster and Mazda 6 vehicles happened on 3 January 2018 at kilometer marker 159 of the road linking Khanty-Mansiysk and Nyagan. 10 people were killed in the accident.

At present, investigative operations are ongoing to find out all the reasons for and circumstances surrounding the accident.
