Russian Investigative Committee football team wins futsal international tournament among investigative units of CIS countries

On April 25, 2018, the International Futsal Tournament among investigative units of the CIS countries started in the Republic of Belarus. It was attended by officers of the Investigative Committees of the Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, and Russian Federation. The sporting event organized by the host party, the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, was dedicated to celebration of Victory Day of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

Today was the final round of the competition. The team of the Investigative Committee of Russia won the futsal championship among the investigative units. The second place was awarded to the team of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the third to the team of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Belarus.

In addition, the Russian team players won cups in specific nominations: the Best Goalkeeper was Timur Blinov, the Head of the Babushkinsky Interdistrict Investigations Department of the North-Eastern Administrative Directorate of the Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia; the Most Valuable Player was Ivan Streltsov, the Deputy Chief of the Main Forensics Directorate.

At the opening of the sports tournament, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Noskevich stressed the need to develop cooperation. “As part of our professional activities, we communicate very closely with our colleagues from different countries. This year we went further - we organized the sports tournament in Belarus. It’s only the first step beyond the investigative work, and most certainly we will find other common grounds. Possibly, it would be a joint event on culture or something else.”

The Russian team players noted the importance of such events for further interaction between the sporting event’s participants and an excellent opportunity to communicate with their colleagues in an informal setting.

The tournament was held in the standard for sports game circular system.
