The evidence gathered by the Moscow Regional Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found by the court to be sufficient to sentence 40-year-old Tatyana Grinishak. She was found guilty of committing offences under Article 156 (failure to discharge the duties of bringing up a minor) and Article 125 (abandoning to danger) of the Criminal Code of Russia.
The investigation and the court established that, on October 14, 2018, Grinishak brought her little son to an apartment building entrance hall in Shchyolkovo, Moscow Region, where she left him and went to Saratov Region on her own. The boy was found by residents of the building who reported it to the police.
Upon instruction of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, a criminal inquiry was launched immediately by the Moscow Regional Main Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia. Investigators together with policemen detained the boy’s mother in no time.
While interrogated, Grinishak told the investigator that she did not have a place of permanent residence in Russia and lived with her son at various addresses in Shchyolkovo, so she left the child in the entrance hall owing to her challenging life situation, lack of permanent residence and a stringent budget.
During the investigation, the investigator introduced recommendations on elimination of the reasons contributed to the offence, as well as to Grinishak’s living with a little child in Shchyolkovo District with no temporary registration, and on increasing of migration control, to the Shchyolkovo Municipal Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, including those to the Migration Department, district police office, and Juvenile Delinquency Department.
Grinishak admitted her guilt to the full and confessed during the pre-investigative probe. The criminal case was considered in court under a special procedure. The court sentenced the woman to paying of a fine of 40,000 roubles.
