The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructs to launch a probe into beating of a girl by her peers in Udmurtia

A video of beating of a teenage girl by a group of peers in Ustinovsky District of Izhevsk was published in social networks. Udmurt Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the shortest possible time launched a pre-investigative probe into this matter.

According to preliminary data, a group of five or six teenagers of 15 to 17 years of age attacked a 16-year-old girl in a forest and hit and kicked her several times. The row and the subsequent beating were caused by an insignificant detail. Investigation is aware that the presumed initiator of the fight is under supervision of the Juvenile Affairs Commission.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed the direction of the Udmurt Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia to immediately launch a probe into beating of a girl, to establish all circumstances and to identify all accomplices of the offence. Also the Chairman of the Investigative Committee instructed to give a legal assessment to the actions (inaction) of the prevention authorities, responsible for control over behavior of children already brought to their attention.

The Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia supervises the progress and results of the investigation upon instruction of the Head of the Committee.
