The Main Directorate on Major Crimes Investigation of the Investigative Committee of Russia continues investigation of a probe into Shishkanov criminal community. Its members are accused of committing of a number of grave and especially grave offences including murders, extortions, infliction of health injuries, illegal storage of firearms and ammunition, organization and participation in a criminal community, etc.
Search activities aimed to check information obtained during investigation revealed bodies of four persons murdered in 2012. Victims of the offence were Director-General of Plemzavod Ramenskoe CJSC and three of her relatives. According to the investigation, they were eliminated by members of the criminal community upon instruction of Oleg Medvedev (Shishkanov before changing of the last name) for their refusal to hand over plots of land.
Investigative team consisting of investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia, operative officers of the Main Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs, Operational Intelligence Directorate of the Federal Security Service of Russia and criminal investigation units of Ramensky District carried out large-scale works for area examination near a garden plots massive in Ramenskiy District. The examined area amounted to over 2,000 square metres, maximum depth - to 10 metres. As a result of digging that lasted 12 days, the team found and recovered bodies of the victims; two of them had bullets in the head area.
All relevant forensic examinations of the remains and the bullets, including those aimed to established causes of human deaths, have been arranged.
Detailed examination of this other offences involving the accomplices is ongoing. Nine perpetrators remain in custody: Oleg Medvedev, Eduard Kharkov, Yury Grogoriev, Dmitry Gusev, Dmitry Baryshnikov, Yury Ofitserov, Dmitry Khlamkin, Loretis Vitskautas, Michail Korovin. The investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are defining the role of each accomplice and verifying their involvement in other possible episodes of the criminal activity.
