The Krasnoyarsk and Khakassia Regional Office of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continue the investigation of a probe under Part 3 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violation of safety rules during work that has entailed by negligence the death of two or more persons).

As part of the investigation, the investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia detained the director of the gold mining company «Sisim», the head and master of the mining site of the same organization in Kuraginsky District. They were taken to Krasnoyarsk for interrogation, where investigators are now working with them.

As it was reported earlier, on October 19, 2019, a technological dam on the Ceiba River broke through at night on the territory of a gold mine near the village of Shchetinkino, Kuraginsky District. According to preliminary data, as a result of the accident, 15 people died and 14 injured workers were hospitalized.

Searches were conducted at the office of the gold mining company, and technical and financial documents were seized. Along with others, the investigation considers violations during gold mining as a priority version.
