Today, a federal TV channel reported that some individuals imposed services to replace allegedly unserviceable gas equipment to citizens of the Vorsma town of Nizhny Novgorod Region under the disguise of being workers of the local gas service. The misled people contacted the gas service and found out that the individuals offering the services were not employed by the gas service. The journalists also highlighted that the citizens applied to internal affairs officers who arrested the perpetrators but shortly released them.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the management of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Investigations Directorate of the Investigative Committee to verify the facts reported by mass media and assess the legitimacy of the decision of the police officers to release the said individuals.
