The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the direction of the Sverdlovsk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to organize a pre-investigative probe into mass media materials on possible violations of rights of a disabled woman in Yekaterinburg.
A federal TV channel reported that the disabled woman repeatedly asked officials in Yekaterinburg to relocate her from an emergency barrack; however, they didn’t see critical malfunctions in the building and rejected the woman’s claims to provide other housing. At present the building has been destroyed by fire, the woman was saved by her neighbors but continues to live in the burnt apartment.
Alexander Bastrykin instructed the direction of the investigative department to study all arguments reported by the mass media and give legal assessment to actions (inaction) of specific authorities that violated the rights and legal interests of the woman.
Apart from that, residents of Krasny Pakhar settlement near Volgograd complain about local authorities failing to take measures to provide citizens with drinking water of adequate quality.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the Volgograd Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia to organize a procedural assessment of this fact and immediately report its results.
