The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia requests reports on a number of episodes of violation of rights of children and to examine arguments cited in media

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Voronezh Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia K.E. Levit to report on the progress of the criminal case against a local resident accused of child torture. The 34-year-old man lived in an apartment on Victory Boulevard in Voronezh together with his wife and 3-year-old son and their 12-year-old stepson.  Between July 2020 and July 2021, the head of the household systematically beat the 12-year-old child with his hands and a charger cord in the torso and lower extremities, causing physical pain and mental anguish to the latter. The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia ordered a thorough analysis of the causes and conditions that contributed to the incident. The progress of investigation of the probe is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

Also, the head of the Committee instructed the head of the Leningrad Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia S. T. Sazin to report on the progress of the criminal investigation into a crime committed against a 10-year-old girl from the village of Myza-Ivanovka of Gatchina district of Leningrad region. Earlier, the investigation department received a report of a missing child. As a result of the investigation and search activities, the whereabouts of the minor was established in St. Petersburg at the place of residence of the man who corresponded with her in an instant messenger. The investigation launched a probe into the man under Paragraph B of Part 4 of Article 132 of the Criminal Code of Russia (violent acts of a sexual nature committed against a person under the age of fourteen).  At present, the suspect has been detained and subjected to preventive detention. The progress of investigation of the probe is under the supervision of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

In addition, in connection with the media information saying that in the Tyumen Region the property of an agricultural enterprise under forged documents was transferred to an organization - "double" with a similar name, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed the head of the Tyumen Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia Kublyakov A.A. to report on the arguments outlined in the material.
