The evidence collected by the Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia was found sufficient by the court to pass sentence on Abduvahit Akhmetov. He was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules, resulting in the death of two or more persons by negligence).

The investigation and the court established that on January 29, 2021 Akhmetov transporting cargo on the truck "DAF FT XF 105", on the 872 km of the highway in Syzran district of Samara region, allowed driving a train on the right-of-way. As a result, he collided with a bus moving in the oncoming direction. The driver and 11 passengers were killed. Another 11 passengers of the bus were injured with varying degrees of severity.

The investigation of the criminal case established all the circumstances of the incident, confirmed by the results of numerous medical, automotive, genetic forensic examinations, examinations of video surveillance cameras on the highway M-5 "Ural" and other evidence collected in the criminal case.

The court sentenced Akhmetov to four years and eight months of imprisonment to be served in a settlement colony.
