Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs to Examine Recording of Conversation with Former Verkhovna Rada Deputy as Part of Investigation

As part of the investigation of a criminal case initiated in connection with public dissemination of deliberately false information about the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the city of Bucha, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation A. I. Bastrykin has instructed the Main Investigative Department to examine the recording of a conversation between former Rada deputy Alexander Rzhavsky and Russian servicemen.

This recording, made on the eve of the Russian troops' withdrawal from Bucha, was published by the media. During the conversation, Russian servicemen suggest that A. Rzhavsky be evacuated to a safe place, expressing fears for his life, which may be threatened by Ukrainian nationalists since he supports pro-Russian views. The man refuses to do this, expressing confidence in his safety. According to the media reports, he was later found dead, and the Ukrainian party groundlessly accused Russian servicemen of killing Rzhavsky.

In accordance with the instructions of the Chairman of the IC of Russia, the investigators will examine the abovementioned record, attach it to the criminal case materials and analyze the available data in conjunction with other evidence to establish all circumstances of the incident.
