The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia will consider the petition submitted by Members of Legislative Assembly and Representatives of Municipal Units on the situation with a number of historical buildings demolition in St. Petersburg

A group of Municipal Units Representatives and Legislative Assembly members of St. Petersburg have appealed the Russian Investigative Committee Authorities with a request to sort out the ongoing demolition of historical buildings in the city center. According to them, the buildings of the 19th and early 20th centuries were being destroyed intentionally in the interests of the construction business.

The appeal also shows examples of buildings demolitions that have occurred in the city over the past three months: the demolition of the arena of the Life Guards of the Finnish Regiment on Vasilyevsky Island, the Ekimova trading baths on the Petrograd side and the building of the Vasilyevsky wine town on Uralskaya Street. In addition, according to the lawmakers, the historical buildings of the Production Complex of the Society of Russian Battery Plants "Tudor" on Professor Popov Street, and the Lapin House on the corner of Rizhsky Prospekt and Lodygin Lane are being prepared for demolition too.

The appeal is a subject to the Chairman of IC of Russia personal review.

All information and arguments will be carefully examined, and a procedural decision will be made based on the results.
