The Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee instructs to organize an inspection on the dismantling of the Monument to the Defenders in Latvia

The media reported that in the Latvian city called Liepaja, the dismantling of a monument began. It was erected in 1960 in honor of the days of June 22-29, 1941, when the city was defended from Nazi invaders.

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, instructed to organize an inspection on this fact, to provide the legal assessment of all the circumstances and to submit a report. The inspection is a subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
