A meeting of the chairmen of the Investigative Committees of Russia and the Republic of Belarus was hosted

The Investigative Committee of Russia hosted a working meeting of the Head of the Department Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin and the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus Dmitry Yuryevich Gora.

The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Chairman of the IC of Russia E.V. Kaburneev, Deputy Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation - Head of the Main Military Investigation Department K.E. Korpusov, Head of the Department of Legal Support and International Cooperation of the IC of Russia O.Yu. Mikhailov, as well as the Head of the International Legal Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus M.N. Vavulo.

Mr. A.I. Bastrykin, noted that unique relations have been established between Russia and the Republic of Belarus, based on effective business cooperation in various regards, strong friendship between peoples, deep spiritual and cultural ties.

The scientific, educational items and research activities were discussed within the meeting. The Head of the Investigative Committee of Russia indicated that the interaction of the Investigative Committees is at an unprecedented high level. Agreements have already been concluded between the departments and cooperation programs have been signed, and joint work is underway to establish the facts of the genocide of peoples during the Great Patriotic War.

"We are glad that your Officers have the opportunity to study and improve their skills in our Educational Institutions. I am sure that we will find new areas of our cooperation, taking into account the fact that time does not stand still, we are facing new tasks and we will certainly solve them together," Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin added.

The joint work of the Investigative Bodies of the Union State is another step towards in the direction of strengthening the intellectual potential in the field of improving the system of training, re-training and advanced training of personnel of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

Mr. D.Yu. Gora, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus, stressed the importance of interaction: "Taking into account the experience that the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation possesses, we gain new knowledge, new competencies, new opportunities."

During the discussion of issues related to the ongoing events in Ukraine, the Heads of Departments agreed on the legal aspects of cooperation in this area, noting the importance of joint efforts to counter modern challenges and threats.

The parties paid special attention to the topic of cooperation in matters of expert research.

The Heads of Departments signed the Cooperation Program of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus in the scientific, educational and research activities for 2023-2025.

In addition, as part of a working trip, Officers of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus visited the Main Forensic Directorate (Forensic Center) of the Investigative Committee of Russia, where Russian Forensic Experts demonstrated the latest samples of forensic equipment used in the detection and investigation of crimes, and also exchanged experience with colleagues.
