In Kirov Oblast on October 26, a 21-year-old resident of the village of Kyrchany, Nolinsky rayon, being on the territory of the memorial site dedicated to the soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, located near the administration building of the Municipal Formation "Kyrchanskoe Rural Settlement", deliberately damaged three memorial granite plaques. Based on this fact, the Investigating Authorities of the regional Investigative Directorate launched a criminal investigation in accordance with paragraph "b" Part 2, Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (damage to memorial structures that perpetuate the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland). A set of investigative actions aimed at detecting all the circumstances of the crime is being carried out.
The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed Mr. Vinogradov A.P., Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Kirov Oblast, to submit a report on the progress of the criminal investigation, and the results of it are the subject to control in the Main Directorate of the Department.
