Investigators of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Russian Investigative Committee launched a criminal investigation on the fire at the Moscow-Leningradskaya station

Investigators of the Northern Investigative Division for Transport of the Western Interregional Investigative Directorate for Transport of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation launched a criminal investigation on the fire occurred in a warehouse building at the Moscow-Leningradskaya station in Moscow in accordance with Part 3, Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements).

The investigation detected that on the afternoon of November 20, 2022, two separate buildings ignited, with a total area of 2500 sq. m., located in the city of Moscow, Komsomolskaya Square as a result of improper storage of goods, violation of fire safety rules and the provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers.

After extinguishing the fire, the bodies of unidentified persons were found at the scene of the fire. The exact number of victims is being specified. In addition, property damage was caused.

The Investigation, together with Forensic Specialists, conducted a partial examination, organized a set of investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances, causes and conditions of the incident, and they appointed the necessary forensic examinations.
