The Chairman of the IC of Russia takes part in the X All-Russian Congress of Judges

Mr. Alexander Ivanovich Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, took part in the X All-Russian Congress of Judges in the State Kremlin Palace.

President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin spoke at the opening ceremony of the event and he outlined the main vectors for the judicial system development. The Head of State noted that the challenges and threats that the country is facing nowadays cannot justify a superficial or accusatory approach during court proceedings, investigative and other legal proceedings. The President of Russia stressed the importance of the work to recognize the facts of the genocide of civilian people during the Great Patriotic War. "The collection of evidence about the atrocities and crimes committed by Nazis continues, and henceforth, each such fact must be legally and judicially assessed," added Mr. V.V. Putin.

Mr. Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Lebedev, Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation; Mr. Valery Dmitrievich Zorkin, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation and Mr. Viktor Viktorovich Momotov, Chairman of the Council of Judges of the Russian Federation also spoke at the plenary session of the Jubilee Congress. In total, over 800 delegates take part in the event, presenting proposals for changing the current legislation and improving the activities of the Judicial System. The Federal Ministers, Heads of Services and Departments, and other honored guests among the invitees.

Within the work of the X All-Russian Congress of Judges, consideration of amendments to the Code of Judicial Ethics is planned, as well as the formation of a new composition of the Council of Judges, by the Higher Qualifications Board of Judges and the Higher Examination Commission for taking the qualification exam for the position of a Judge.

The Participants of the event assessed the state of the Judicial System of the State and determined the prospects for the development of justice in Russia, noting the importance of the common task in protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, restoring justice and strengthening social stability in society.
