Decree of the President of Russia increases the staffing of the Investigative Committee

In accordance with the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin No. 880 dated December 5, 2022, the staffing of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (except for the Military Investigative Bodies of the Russian Investigative Committee) has been increased to 21,989 people, including 20,734 Officers holding positions for which special ranks are awarded, in the amount of 20,734 Federal State Civil servants - 270 persons. The number of Military Investigative Bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia increased to 2,566 units, including Military Personnel in the amount of 2,132 persons.

The specified legal act was issued within the regulation of the decision on the staffing of the Investigative Units of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Donetsk, Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson Oblasts. This made it possible to approve the relevant structures and states by Orders of the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

Currently, the Department is working on organizing the activities of the newly established Investigative Directorates. Particular attention is paid to the safety of Officers who undergo additional training and the necessary briefing.

The Investigative Committee of Russia is also working on aspects of the technical equipment of Forensic Services and the Forensic Expert Center of the Department.
