A fire broke out at one of the plants in the city of Ukhta during scheduled maintenance work, resulting in injuries and fatalities.

In connection with this incident, the investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Komi have opened a criminal case under Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of industrial safety requirements at hazardous production facilities).

Investigative and other procedural actions are being carried out as part of the criminal case to establish the causes of the incident.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia has instructed the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Komi, A.N. Isaev, to submit a report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the established circumstances.
