The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia instructed to be reported on the investigation of a criminal case regarding the provision of unsafe services that resulted in deaths and injuries in a road accident in the Ryazan region

The investigative authorities of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Ryazan region have opened a criminal case regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements for life or health, which resulted in the death of people through negligence (part 3 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the RF), following the road accident that occurred on June 18, 2024, on a highway in the Ryazan region involving a minibus, several passenger cars, and trucks.

As a result of the accident, the driver and 6 passengers of the minibus, as well as the driver of a passenger car, died at the scene. Thirteen injured individuals, including minors, were taken to a medical facility with varying degrees of injuries and are receiving necessary assistance.

The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has instructed the head of the Investigative Department for the Ryazan region, V.A. Nikeshkin, to submit a report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the established circumstances.
