Within the framework of investigation the Arkhangelsk region Investigative Committee announced  Eerik-Niiles Kross the accused in a criminal case related to hijacking of Arctic Sea ship. 

The criminal case had been launched into hijacking of the ship “Arctic Sea”, the crime under part 3 of article 227 of the Russian Criminal Code (piracy). The courts have already convicted a number of foreign nationals.

Within the framework of this investigation Eerik-Niiles Kross is charged in absentia with the crime under part 3 of article 33, part 3 of article 227 of the Russian Criminal Code (organization of piracy). A request for Kross to be put on the federal and international wanted lists has been sent to the regional FSB Department in Arkhangelsk region.

Investigation is to be continued.
