Russian Investigative Committee and Cuba’s Interior Ministry signed Cooperation Agreement

Cooperation agreement has been signed between the Russian Investigative Committee and the Cuban Interior Ministry during the visit of official delegation of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee led by the First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee Vasily Piskarev in the Republic of Cuba.

The agreement provides for organization of joint measures in the framework of international legal co-operation, exchange of experience between investigative and forensic units, exchange of methods and technologies in investigation, information on crimes and anti-crime activities, joint consultations and workshops.

Vasily Piskarev pointed out that: “communication will urge further co-operation in the area of anti-crime activities, especially its trans-national elements. This agreement is one more step towards closer relations between the two nations, the two positions in the fight against crime”.

In the opinion of both sides the agreement shows the desire to set up relations between law-enforcement agencies of Russia and Cuba and expresses their aspiration for productive co-operation.

The Russian SK delegation offered their Cuban colleagues to visit the Russian Federation in order to see the investigation capabilities of the Investigative Committee, operation of its divisions and achievements of Russian forensic science.
