Active participant of mass disorders at Tornado rock music festival in Chelyabinsk in 2010 held

The Urals Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation continues investigating a criminal case over mass disorders that took place on 29 August 2010 during the Tornado rock music festival in the Chelyabinsk Region.

On 14 February 2013, Igor Strigunov, born in 1983, with previous convictions was held in a rented flat in Chelyabinsk on suspicions of active participation in mass disorders on 29 August 2010 during the Tornado rock music festival in the Chelyabinsk Region. In the near future investigators are going to charge Strigunov with a crime under part 2 of article 212 of the RF Criminal Code (participation in mass riots) and initiate a custodial restraint against him.

Investigation continues and investigators are finding whether there were other persons involved in attacking the guests of the festival.

Earlier 13 people have been prosecuted in the case over mass disorders at the Tornado rock music festival. In July 2012 all of them were sentenced to long terms in prison.

Investigators remind that voluntary notification of being involved in the crime, cooperation with law enforcement, active assistance to investigation will be taken into account during the investigation and in court.
