In Perm Territory investigators looking into mass food poisoning

The Perm Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigating check into mass food poisoning of local residents, including children, in one of entertainment centers in the town of Gornozavodsk.

According to preliminary reports, on 25 June 2014, 11th graders were having their school leaving party in the Razgulyai entertainment center in Gornozavodsk. On 26 June 2014, 30 people applied to Gornozavodsk Central District Hospital and 23 of them were then taken to contagious isolation ward and 7 are being treated at home. 14 of 23 patients are school graduates. All of those applied were preliminarily diagnosed with salmonellosis. It could have been caused by intake of subquality foodstuffs.

At present a set of investigating operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made, following the check.
