Check underway in Mi-8 crash in Khabarovsk Territory

The investigating bodies of the Far Eastern Transport Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigating check in the crash of a Mi-8 helicopter in the Khabarovsk Territory.

According to investigators, today about 1 PM, the Mi-8 of Aerovir airlines took off from Verkhnebureinsky District, Khabarovsk Territory. According to preliminary reports there were 13-14 people aboard (presumably paratroopers of Forest Fire Air Protection Service). At 06:57 PM, the helicopter crashed and was found burned 50 km to northwest from the village of Chekunda, Verkhnebureinsky District, Khabarovsk Territory. The information on the injured is being specified.

A team of investigators and criminalists of the Far Eastern Transport Investigations Directorate have taken off for the crash scene.
