Criminal case launched against former CEO of OAO MRSK Center

The Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case against former CEO of OAO Inter-Regional Grid Distribution Company of Center and North Caucasus (OJSC) (hereinafter MRSK Center) Yevgeny Makarov and CEO of OAO Corporate Service Systems (OJSC) (hereinafter CorSys) Stanislav Milkin. They are suspected of crimes under part 2 of article 201 of the RF Penal Code (abuse of power), part 5 of article 33, part 2 of article 201 (complicity in abuse of power).

According to investigators in 2005 Makarov, who was CEO of MRSK Center, involved an acquaintance of his Stanislav Milkin and other unidentified persons as accomplices having offered them to manage the controlled by him CorSys based in the city of Belgorod. One of the main shareholders of the company was Makarov’s wife. Then Makarov and Milkin created conditions under which MRSK Center was unable to execute its liabilities to users of power without concluding unprofitable contracts with CorSys connected with servicing information and technological systems located in 11 regions of central Russia.

As a result of the abovementioned actions MRSK Center suffered considerable material loss ov more than 880 million rubles. The main shareholder of this company is the state.

At present investigating and search operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved.
