On 4 November 2013, about 5:55 PM, apposite house No 182 in Imam Shamil Prospekt in the city of Makhachkala two unidentified men shot dead federal judge of Leninsky district court of Makhachkala Zaynudin Madanov and fled the scene. The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in the Republic of Dagestan have launched a criminal investigation into signs of crimes under article 295 of the RF Penal Code (encroachment on the life of a judge), part 2 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms).

The investigators consider the judge’s professional activity as the main motive of the crime.

At present a number of investigating operations are underway to find all the circumstances of the crime, to identify and hold of the involved.
