Girl's dead body found during search operation in case over missing child in Moscow

Moscow investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation into the disappearance of a child as containing signs of the crime under paragraph “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

Investigators have found that on 17 December 2013 a woman reported her daughter aged 1 year and 11 months missing to law enforcement bodies. She explained that she had left to do some shopping and left her children alone in the flat, but when she had come back the door had been open and the elder girl had been nowhere to be found. Investigators and criminologists immediately set off for the scene. They found traces of blood in the woman’s flat. During the questioning the mother confessed that the child had died, she was afraid of being held responsible for that and took the body to an empty place and then called the police.

Investigating operations are underway. Investigators have visited a construction site and found the girl’s body near it. At the moment forensic medical expert examination is underway to find the cause of death.
