Flat and office of former Novosibirsk Region governor searched

The Siberian Federal District Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee with court sanctions has conducted searches in the office and flat of former governor of Novosibirsk Region Vasily Yurchenko.

The searches were due to the fact that the investigation directorate is investigating a criminal case under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud) launched in the 2011 sale of a land piece and unfinished building on it in Chaplygin Street in Novosibirsk at understated price.

During the inquiry investigators are going to classify actions of officials of the Novosibirsk Region Government participating in the alienation of the property, including ex-governor Vasily Yurchenko.

It should be noted that Yurchenko has not been detained and is participating in the investigation in the status of a witness.
