In Rostov Region deputy head of Traffic Police Office detained on suspicion of organizing assault on his boss

The South Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over use of force dangerous for health and life and intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm to chief of the Traffic Police Office of the Rostov Region Main Office of the Russian Interior Ministry Lieutenant Colonel of Police Sergey Morgachev (part 2 of article 318 of the RF Penal Code, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 111).

As it has been reported earlier, on 25 March 2014 two men hit Morgachev on his head and body with wooden sticks near the elevators on the 16th floor of a block of flats in Lenin Street in the city of Rostov-on-Don. The victim was hospitalized with an open craniocelebral trauma and numerous fractures of facial bones. The circumstances of the crime indicate that the assault was carefully planned, prepared and carried out in connection with his professional activity.

Thanks to a number of efficient investigating and search operations deputy head of Rostov Region Traffic Police Office Alexander Otsimik has been detained on suspicion of the crime. In addition, four residents of Astrakhan suspected of executing the attack have been detained. One of the perpetrators is also an uncertified police officer.

Restrained have been imposed against two of the perpetrators, a number of investigating operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the crime. Investigation is ongoing.
