The Far Eastern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee during the criminal investigation in bribery and misuse of power opened against vice-chairman of the Jewish Autonomous Region Government Sergey Krivosheyev has revealed another crime not linked with this one in the actions of first vice-chairman of the Jewish Autonomous Region Government Dmitry Prokhodtsev.
The evidence collected and files from the Federal Security Service Office in the Jewish Autonomous Region made up a basis for opening a criminal case against Prokhodtsev into a crime under part 5 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (receiving a bribe by an official on a massive scale).
According to investigators, in the period between May 2013 and April 2014 Dmitry Prokhodtsev being the first vice-chairman of the Jewish Autonomous Region Government cooperating architecture and construction matters misused his position in the local government and illegally assisted some company to conclude a state contract on constructing work at Multi-functional center for providing state and municipal services in the Jewish Autonomous Region and later on – to ensure that the payment under the contract was effected in full and in time.
In the same period of time the official got a bribe of no less than 265 thousand rubles from a representative of the company for his illegal actions. The sum was a part of stipulated beforehand 5% of the contract payment.
The bribe-giver and the mediator are under investigation into crimes under part 4 of article 291 of the RF Penal Code (giving a bribe to an official through an intermediate on a large scale) and part 3 of article 291.1 (mediation in bribery – direct transfer of the bribe at the instruction of a bribe-giver).
Offices and residences of the accused have been searched with the money found and confiscated from the official’s flat.
On the motion of investigators a court has ruled to place Prokhodtsev and the bribe-giver into custody.
