Investigators intend to find type and trajectory of shell killing man in Donetsk, Rostov Region

The Southern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continues investigating a criminal case over shelling of houses in the Rostov Region containing signs of crimes under paragraphs “f” and “g” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code, part 3 of article 30, paragraphs “f” and “g” of part 2 of article 105 (murder, attempted murder of two or more people committed in a generally dangerous way by a group of people).

We remind, that according to investigators, unidentified servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, members of the National Guard and the Right Sector in 13 July 2014 fired from the Ukrainian side at the town of Donetsk, Rostov Region. According to more accurate data, at least seven shells were fired, of which only one failed to explode. One of the shells got into a household in Baltiyskaya street fatally wounding a 45-year-old man living there. Before death, the man’s left hand with comminuted fractures was amputated. An 82-year-old woman was also wounded, but got timely medical aid.

According to the investigators, the unidentified servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, members of the National Guard and the Right Sector did not accomplished their intentional actions aimed at killing citizens in Donetsk, Rostov Region because of the independent reasons as the citizens took cover.

The investigators have already set up forensic medical analyses to determine the cause of man’s death and degree of the wounds sustained by the second victim.

During the examination of the man’s death scene the investigators have found traces of the shell, including a shell hole of 130X170cm and 60 cm deep and dug out about 70 metallic fragments of the shell. In addition, traces of two shells in the form of cone-shaped shell holes have been found in the household of the wounded woman.

Though there is no doubt that the shells came from the Ukrainian side, the data obtained have been passed to the ballistics and bomb experts to answer the investigators’ questions about the type of the shells and their trajectory, the launch place and means. In addition, the data from satellites will be requested, that will help to identify the unit of the Ukrainian army, National Guard or Right Sector was in the launch zone at the time. All that will help to name the commanders who gave the order to open fire at Russia killing a Russian citizen. And don’t those commanders doubt for one second that sooner or later they will answer for that.
