In Sverdlovsk Region charges brought against Yekaterinburg City Duma deputy and his two accomplices

The Sverdlovsk Region investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation have charged 48-year-old Yekaterinburg City Duma Deputy Oleg Kinyov with an offence under part 3 of article 33, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (contract killing). Within the same criminal case, charges have been brought against 27-year-old security expert of a commercial organization Andrey Gusev for an offense under part 5 of article 33, paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (aiding in contract killing) and against his age mate officially unemployed Alexey Khudonogov for an offense under paragraph “h” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Criminal Code (contract killing).

According to a preliminary theory, Yekaterinburg City Duma Deputy Kinyov had organized the murder of an 81-year-old pensioner, who was reported missing in late May 2014. Investigators believe that security expert of a commercial organization Andrey Gusev acted in the murder as an accomplice while unemployed Alexey Khudonogov was the hitman.

We remind you that, after arrests, the three suspects confessed their roles in the murder. Moreover, in the course of investigative actions at the crime scene, the alleged "killer" Alexey Khudonogov revealed where they had buried the murdered pensioner. Her dismembered body was found on the evening of July 20, 2014 in a swampy area about 65 kilometers from Yekaterinburg near the town of Novouralsk.

Currently, evidence-gathering and activities aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the murder are underway. Investigators are checking information about the possible presence of other accomplices in the brutal murder and about possible involvement of the suspects in other crimes. It should be noted that the motive of the crime has already been established but is being kept undisclosed in the interests of the investigation.

At the request of the Investigative Committee and due to the gravity of the offence, all three suspects have been remanded in custody. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
