In Bashkortostan investigation launched into death of child at Egypt’s resort

In the course of web-monitoring, a report was found about the death of a 5-year-old child, who had fallen in a pool at one of the hotels in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt. Given this fact, Bashkir Republic investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation for an offense under part 1 of article 109 of the RF Criminal Code (negligent infliction of death).

According to investigators, the child was on holiday together with his parents and 10-year-old sister. He fell in a pool on July 15, 2014. The boy was pulled out of the water by hotel guests. His heart restarted beating after rescue breathing and he was taken to hospital. However, the child died at one of Sharm-El-Sheikh hospitals without regaining consciousness on the morning of July 20, 2014.

Currently, investigative actions and search operations are underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the person (persons) involved in it. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
